Intro to Rock Climbing

This is where it all begins! This class will give you the foundation for years of adventure. Students will learn:
-Proper fit and adjustment of harness, helmet, and rock shoes. -How to tie in to the rope. -Climbing commands to safely climb with a partner. -How to Belay. (hold the rope while another climbs) -How to Rappel. (descend via the rope) -Safe and efficient climbing movement.

Prerequisites: Desire to learn and have fun!
Location: We meet at US Forest Service office parking lot just south of exit #171 near Minturn. From there, we drive about 12 minutes to the climbing spot near Red Cliff.
What to Bring: -Tennis or hiking shoes. -Athletic Clothing. -Light Rain Jacket. -Light Snack. -Water. -Small Backpack if available. -Camera.
